DATE 11: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

Jearen and I haven't had a full Saturday together in a while. Usually he plays football with some buddies on Saturday mornings and I usually have something going on, but not today. Today our only agenda was being together & finishing our Christmas shopping. Jearen had to work for a few hours though, so I slept in (hallelujah!) and took my time getting ready.

At noon Jearen picked me up to start our day date! Thanks to my Secret Santa from work, we had a Chick Fil A giftcard to use for lunch :)! After we ate, we braved the crowds at Grapevine Mills Mall to get a few things. Yes, we parked FOREVER away, but thankfully the weather is so nice that the walk was very pleasant. After the mall we headed to Target & spotted a group of dogs trying to be adopted outside of the store. We walked around to look at each one. Ive teased him that I wanted a puppy for Christmas for a few weeks now, but I'm sure my mind will change haha.

J then got a haircut & we bought some bags for all the gifts we got, then headed home to wrap them. That evening we had Steaks at my In-Laws and spent the rest of the evening with them laughing, watching YouTube videos & watching a Christmas movie together. Always blessed by Jearen & our families!!!!!

DATE 10: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

This was the fanciest of our twelve dates! We got all dressed up, had a lovely Mexican dinner at Via Real in Irving, walked around Mustang Park in Williams Square (Las Colinas), & got Starbucks to look at Christmas Lights in Irving. It was nothing short of an amazing night together! I love Jearen! This date was fabulous!

Date 9: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

This is going to shock you, because it shocked me too, but I DID NOT take any pictures from this date. Maybe it was because this date was only an hour long. Regardless of having any photo proof (which I love) I enjoyed time with Jearen last night. We had sesame Chinese chicken for dinner & watched a little bit of A Christmas Carol. Jearen had to leave for his softball games that I would have attended, but it was freezing out. The best thing about this date? The fact that I can ask my husband any time, any day, anywhere to pray for me & he will. He is so gracious to me. I was having a lot of anxiety & worry and needed prayer for it to go away. Sweet Jearen prayed for me and I just knew that peace was going to cover me for the evening. I'm thankful for a man who will pray for me for the littlest things and thankful that I serve a God who holds everything in his hands, even my little worries.

DATE 8: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

It was a Monday evening. We invited our friends who were newly engaged, Jonathan & Amanda over for dinner & games. Jearen grilled chicken & made mashed potatoes & green beans. We were asked who was the cook between the two of us, and I think we both are. Jearen is master of anything that needs to be grilled, and I tend to take on whatever needs to be baked. We're a pretty good team. I made my famous sweet tea & we had a great dinner listening to Christmas music on the TV & a warm fire going in the fireplace! After dinner we played a round of Skip Bo & Jearen won! Lucky guy! It's always nice to have company over :)!

DATE 7: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

This date was perfect: full of different activities, sunshine, laughter & great company ;)! After church we had lunch at Dickey's BBQ in Southlake. Ever since I had my first loaded baked potato with my friend Serena @ a Ranger's game, I've been hooked! Did you know they have free icecream inside, too? I'm a sucker for icecream.

After lunch we walked around one of my favorite stores: Homegoods! I always get new ideas for my house when I'm in there. Then we headed to Cinemark Tinseltown in Grapevine for a matinee. It was cheaper & not as crowded...always a plus! We saw Playing for Keeps...it was cute!

This date continued by going to Buon Gornios in Grapevine for coffee. Jearen hates coffee, so he got a coke. We sat outside to played some of my favorite childhood games (mancala and Speed). I think this was our first official coffee shop date :)!

The date ended by shopping at Target to pick up a Christmas gift for a sibling. It was SUCH a great date. What's YOUR favorite things to do on a date?! I'd love to hear from you & hear your love stories. Always makes my heart happy!!

DATE 6: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

I'll admit, I pouted a lot due to the fact that I have choir practice tonight for our big performance this weekend, and even though we had scheduled a date for this afternoon before practice, it just wasn't gonna work for Jearen. OR SO I THOUGHT! I called J when I got off work to tell him I was gonna go shopping in the area until 7. He, the sweet man he is, gently told me we needed to save our money & that I should just eat dinner at home. I pouted again, but knew he was right and headed home. To my surprise, I opened the door to our house and saw sunflowers & a card on the dining room table. It melted me heart. Jearen was hiding in the kitchen, haha. I am so thankful for that hour & a half that we got to spend together today! We made dinner together & spent QUALITY ;))) time before I had to leave. He is so wonderful! ❤

DATE 5: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

I hope those of you who are following our dates & reading along are enjoying some nice dates yourselves!

Saturday night we had a blast with friends at a Christmas party & celebrated a friend's engagement so the next morning, I was Sleepy with a capital S. We went to church and then drove to Rockwall to visit Jearen's grandparents. We had lunch at a place called Pancho & Lefty's. Yeah, I DON'T recommend it!! The food was blah and just not worth it when you're wanting a good hole in the wall Mexican food restaurant.

His Nana is in a rehab facility so we spent time checking up on her. Then we went to their house to help his Grandaddy fix some Christmas lights that were out. I gracefully napped on the couch ;)!

That night we went with our friends Chase & Serena to a Rec Crew Reunion party for the North Texas Youth Department. Jearen & I met working together at this camp in '08 so it was sweet to reminisce with others of when we first meet & to look at where we are now :)! January 10th will be our 2 1/2 year marker of marital bliss! ❤

DATE 4: {Twelve Dates Of Christmas!}

This week has been busy with work, church, & a choir production I'm in next weekend. Thankfully last night was a more relaxing time for me while I got to watch my love play two 30 minute games of Winter League Softball (I had to sit in the car the second game..it was too cold since the fields are right next to Lake Grapevine!) After the games, we drove around some neighborhoods in Coppel to look at lights.

We usually go to several places in the DFW to look at lights, so I'm sure more dates will include more light looking. The radio was set to the Christmas station and boy did we carol along! Ha! We love singing in the car together...we're like Sunny & Cher ;).

Our favorite lights of the night included a house that had a snowman BIGGER than the house itself...and it was a big house! I'm loving our little dates!

Where's your favorite place to look at lights?

DATE 3: {Twelve Dates of Christmas!}

After church, Jearen & I got to spend the day with his Mom & brother Adam. If you are ever in Dallas and are looking for a good hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant, Two Guys from Italy is THE place! It has good food, good prices & it was NOT packed like your typical restaurant on a Sunday at 1pm :)!

After lunch we headed to the Galleria Mall! We took pictures w/ the Tree, drank Starbucks coffee (not Jearen though, he HATES coffee...maybe one day I will convert him ;)!) listened to a 5 person jazz band playing holiday favorites & window shopped like crazy. Jearen claims to have a photographic memory when it comes to my wish list, but my memory is terrible haha, so I have to take a picture of everything & anything he mentions liking!! We had planned on going Ice Skating, but ehh, we were just as happy walking around! Date 3 was so nice to share with some of our family! Jearen's family is great!! Hope you take time for family this season! Lots of love to share.
